Hooroo is a community directory for Holdfast Bay. We collect as little as possible, and you never need an account to browse.
Browsing Hooroo
You can search and view every group and wellbeing service without signing in. Your favourites, onboarding answers and location settings are stored in your own browser, not on our servers, and clearing your browser data removes them.
What we record about searches
We keep a record of search terms typed into the directory so we can see which activities people are looking for and where we have gaps. These records are not linked to you or to any account.
Location
If you use "Near me", your device asks your permission and the approximate coordinates are used only to sort results on your own device. We do not store or transmit your location.
Listings and organiser accounts
Group and service organisers sign in with an email address and password to manage their listings. We store that email address, the organisation it belongs to, and the details and photos submitted for the listing. Everything published in a listing — contact details, times, photos — is visible publicly, so please only include details you are happy to share.
Submissions and reports
When you submit a new group, an update, or report a listing, we keep what you send along with any contact email so our team can follow up and let you know the outcome.
Who can see your information
Only the Hooroo admin team and, where relevant, the organisation that owns a listing can see submission and account details. We do not sell data or share it for advertising.
Keeping or removing information
We keep listing and submission records for as long as the directory runs. If you want your details corrected or removed, contact us through the About page and we will action it.
Emergency and wellbeing services
Hooroo lists wellbeing services as information only. We are not a crisis service and cannot see or respond to anything you enter here. In an emergency call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
